World Union: A Futuristic Office Space by Tu Pochun and Wang Chihyun

Winning Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017

The design of World Union is inspired by the idea that every era has a future. The office space, though not very large, is designed to evoke a sense of the future. The visual impact begins at the entrance, where an "8" shaped ceiling extends from the entrance to a small indoor discussion area. The entrance space is designed to resemble a museum scene, with a large area of HPL veneer and a reflective glass ceiling to emphasize the visual center.

Despite the limited budget, the designers managed to create a distinctive space using low-key materials such as fireproof board and painted glass. The result is an office that feels futuristic and expresses a simple truth: even simple materials can create a stunning design when used creatively.

The office space is divided into two main areas: the entrance area, which is black, and the office area, which is white. However, the two areas are interspersed with each other's colors, creating a balance and a sense of unity. This color scheme is a reflection of World Union's approach to its partners: coexistence, win-win, and proudly ahead.

The design also includes elements of humor. For example, the staff office area uses a high cabinet to create a sense of humor. The cabinet is divided into two parts, with the upper cabinet supported by steel. The middle part is a unique bevel edge, said to represent the chairman's life motto of "vagaries of society, a man must not be arrogant".

The project faced several challenges, including the need to create a distinctive space on a limited budget. However, the designers overcame these challenges through creative use of materials and innovative design techniques.
